Sanchez over Nicolino and Syndergaard is extremely questionable.

I agree, but probably in the opposite direction that you're thinking.

I would disagree with that, at risk of *gasp* agreeing with Conor. Teheran is overrated based on results in the minors rather than properly rated based on stats in the minors. He will be tested very heavily with a full MLB season, and the Braves have no reason to throw him into anything but the bullpen in 2012, barring major injuries to the starting rotation.
Although, I feel very much the same way about Jesus Montero, and appreciate KLaw's ranking of him at #9. I would even rank him lower, based on his likelihood of not playing much at C at all this year. I just don't see the bat making him a stellar DH. I don't get how he's being ranked in the top 5. Yes, good bat, but with positional value being taken into account, and he won't qualify at C in most leagues, I just don't see him paying off...

A plus change up is only a good pitch when you can locate a fastball. Teheran can't do that.

lol. well anyway...its just for 2012 so im ok with that ranking after reading his article and comments. Law feels teheran could use a little more seasoning before he evolves into the ACE he will be. (or at least #1-2). I'm assuming you are not a scout dudedudedude?
nevermind read the top 20 for 2012 article my bad

I'm not a scout no, but you don't need to be one to see flaws in players. Look at how successful players do what they do, the sequencing, the locations, the pitch types, ect. and you can figure out how a pitcher is going to do. The exceptions of course are players like Brandon Beachy who develop a pitch (ridiculous slider) without people noticing.
