Can we just keep religion completely out of this? I didn't join a fantasy baseball league to debate the pros and cons of a particular worldview, belief, or lifestyle, so how about let's just talk about baseball. I, for one, am a Christian, and would really enjoy it if you didn't bash my faith. I think that it isn't necessary to smash religion down people's throats, and if they want to be a Christian or whatever, they'll talk to you about it. However, Pujols' beliefs have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not he stayed with the Cards or not.
For the record, I fully support Pujols' decision, as it's exactly what I would've done. I think it may have been smarter to stay in St. L where he'll always be loved, regardless of whether he would've tailed off five years into a ten year deal. LA won't be so forgiving. Angels fans won't take kindly to paying a 39 year old $25 million to hit .250 with 10 HR.

There are some serious issues with "equal rights." For one, there is no such thing as "equal rights." Someone always gets the short straw. The concept is fantastic, just like communism but unfortunately, it's not productive. While Evangelicals tend to take things to the extreme at times, a generalization that they are all assholes is simply put, wrong. While you may not believe in the same values that they do, it's not as if their values are created to spread hate. They have reason behind them, both economical and personal. Granted, a large portion of the followers may not understand the origins, we can't assume none of them do. The only people I'm willing to call ass holes on the basis of beliefs are the Westboro Baptist Church.
And Steelers fans.

I'll also give you that. Westboro is in no way an accurate representation of God, they're all idiots. And screw the Steelers.

LA will be interesting for him. The state income tax difference makes the $220M v. $254M more like 209 v. 231, plus a significantly higher cost of living, but I'm sure he has plenty of people crunching the numbers and including things like projected increases in endorsements, etc., due to playing in LA vs. STL.
But, yeah, Angels fans, who have no historical connection to Pujols, will be a lot less forgiving when he begins to decline. Especially if (when) he does turn out to be 34, not 31. Yankees COO Lonn Trost apparently has said that their research has him being born in 1977, not 1980.

Equal rights under the law is not a particularly difficult concept.

It's also not particularly productive, but unfortunately, there is no middle ground.

Not sure how productivity is in any way relevant, but this is not the venue.
I mean, slavery was mighty productive...

Because Western society has deviated from it's "productivity" perspective in order to please the masses. "Equal rights" is part of that.

An atheist, male, Ann Coulter is probably the best description. Bring on the hate.

Uhhhhhh...we should probably never talk about anything not strictly sports-related. Ann Coulter is a horrid, repugnant excuse for a human being who can't possibly actually believe the ridiculous crap she shits out her mouth, just smugly laughs as she sells another million books every time she spews more ignorance, hate, and venom.
edit: to be clear, I would be thrilled if Ann Coulter were to be held captive, on public display, and tortured as entertainment. Forever.

Almost had the chance to meet her two years ago, except most of my University went into a total up roar when they heard she was going to be speaking here. I guess I picked the wrong University.

Pretty much any University is going to be the wrong one. Education tends to diminish support for people like her.
