Alfonzo, you're my new favorite owner. I've been listening to American Dollar for the last half hour, they're so talented.

Seriously, though, if you're into hip-hop, Immortal Technique has been on constant blast for me for the past year and a half. Smart, sharp, politically-leaning, tight flow. Have you heard their song, Dance with the devil? Its fucked up.

Yeah, I've got all of his stuff. Obnoxious and Peruvian Cocaine are probably my two favorites.

So I'm going to see Frank Ocean tonite in NYC. He's the best young R&B artist to come around in quite some time. Go to Youtube and type him in, he has tons of songs. I think he's pretty special. I'll give the review later.

Show-off. edit: I've actually been listening to the record most of the evening. Only criticism so far is one that I notice a lot with guys who have so many songs - a lot of them really sound the same. Still good, though.

I'm no R&B fan by any means, but I'd certainly agree that the kid's got something. He's good.

Can't remember who was asking about electronic, but Die Antwoord might qualify as sort of electro-hipster-hop and they're pretty nice. South African freaks. They also played at the HARD Fest and were great.

I haven't been able to take Die Antwoord seriously after hearing "Enter the Ninja."

Heh, not sure taking them seriously is exactly the point. At least not all the time.

So, Frank Ocean was pretty happening. At 23 years old his songwriting and voice are elite. His stage presence is star quality, but still needs to figure out how to perform and engage an audience for an hour. He sang over backing tracks, which generally sucks, but in this case with the audience singing along to every lyric it felt like our little secret. Highlight of the night was when he performed the track "American Wedding" which is a song written over the Eagles "Hotel California" melody (its not as gimmicky as you think and kinda works). At the song ending guitar solo, Frank pulls out a "Guitar Hero" guitar and played the solo over the video game with his back to the audience. Pretty badass.

I'm really digging the new Drake album, "Take Care". Its kinda hiphop but really different in a very good way. He made a decision to carve new ground in a very beat up genre. Respect. My favorite album of the year is still Bon Iver's second offering, who has the most original new sound I've heard in music in a while.

Haha, I've been hitting Bon Iver's self-titled and Die Antwoord back and forth all day.

Just waiting for the Steve Aoki album to come out in January. Seems so far away.

What's the story with Steve Aoki? I know he's a name in the dance game, but I know nothing. Tell me
