Jason- Thats how i believe it should work, all transactions should occur on proboards before they are completed on the host site.

Thanks for that Jason, it's well done. Would also like to thank Scott and Rocky, as well as Jason again for their work with draft and the salary rules.
Yes, that is how it will be handled during the regular season.

Received a question about the availability of Yoenis Cespedes in Free Agency, and am hoping someone can make sure we're all clear.
He is now eligible for free agency per MLB, but has not signed with a Major League team as of now.
Should he be eligible for free agency in our league now, or at a later date?

I am going to say that he is eligible for free agency - He would fall into the same category as Darvish, where he is extremely likely to sign a Major League contract and does not fall under the same guidelines as a prospect.
Dudex3, any problem with this?

Well then. Let's get this bidding going. I can't make new boards though, so if someone wants to make boards I'd be happy to get my bidding shoes on.

Can we "send down" players on our MLB roster to our milb roster with thier contract still counting against our cap in order to clear room on the MLB roster?

also: can we outright assign players that we sign in FA to our milb roster?

See this thread: faketeamsdynasty.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=addsanddrops&action=display&thread=43Short answer: You can. I don't think we clarified whether or not you could send down free agents, but logically that would be a pain in the butt to track, so I'd say probably.

Cespedes is not available to selected in this draft. He does not come with the same guarantee to play immediately in the majors as Darvish does. He does have a major league contract but players like Hechavarria do as well and they are also not eligible. Darvish was a special case.

Just trying to think way ahead here: The rules state that if you buy out a player, you have to wait 7 days to bid on him. What if I simply let his contract expire? May I then bid on him in free agency right away, or would the waiting period still apply?
